1st Edition Provincetown Seafood Cookbook Howard Mitcham 1975 AddisonWesley SoftCover Illustrated
This 1st edition of the cookbook published by Addison-Wesley Publishing Company is very rare and hard to find. Two other editions were published the same year but are less valuable. One by Parnassus Press and the other by Hermit Crab Press. The 1976 edition seems to have the least value with later editions selling for more.
This copy of the Provincetown Seafood Cookbook I have listed in my Ebay Store has been very popular in the kitchen for the past 40 years. It’s cover is worn and has some stains. There is cooking splatter on the outer edges of some of the pages. The first page has been crumpled. Inside the pages are in excellent condition, for the most part, with only a few favorite recipe pages having slight stains. (See pictures for more description)
The pages of Provincetown Seafood Cookbook are illustrated with beautiful woodcuts by the author, Howard Mitcham, who was known to be very Bohemian and a well known American artist, poet, and cook.
This is a very valuable addition to your rare book collection. Or your kitchen!
